Sikholo Community Development Association, was formed by a collection of eight co-operatives that decided to register one entity. Most members are rooted in the history of the workers movement while others have many years of experience in co-operative formations through training and mentorship. Sikholo began its partnership with DVV in 2015 and works closely with PEP and TWC, facilitating training, co-operative registration and workshops that develops cooperative skills and promotes a solidarity economy alternative. Sikholo also mentors newly formed co-operatives located in a number of townships. It partners with NGO research organisations and university researchers in an effort to further develop their own capacity while they regularly host specific leadership training for selected members of cooperatives.
