Mozambique
DVV International in Mozambique continues to implement Integrated Adult Education, combining Literacy and Numeracy with Life Skills. During the current implementation cycle, DVV International has expanded its activities to Tete province, specifically to Moatize district, through a new implementation partner – OREMO – Organização Esperança Moçambique.
AJUCOM and AMODEC have expanded their activities to Bilene, Chibuto and Limpopo districts in Gaza province, South Mozambique, integrating modules of Agriculture, Agro-processing, Small business development and Climate Change, in addition to Financial Education and Nutrition.
In the central region of the country, particularly in Sofala and Tete provinces, the focus of the integration component is Health and Nutrition, Tomato Jam production, cassava youghurt production and savings, Revolving Credit component.
Overall, DVV International in Mozambique currently works with five implementing partners, namely:
AMODEC – Associação Moçambicana para o Desenvolvimento das Comunidades, based in Manhiça Municipal Town, in Maputo province;
AJUCOM – Associação Juvenil para o Desenvolvimento de Moçambique, headquatered in Xinavane, Manhiça district;
APFM – Associação de Preservação da Família em Moçambique, headquatered in Beira City, Sofala Province in the central region of the country;
OJOLISC – Organização de Jovens Livres para Servir as Comunidades, also based in Beira, and;
OREMO – Organização Esperança Moçambique, based in Tete, province – Moatize district.
DVV International works also with strategic partners notably the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) and its respective Provincial Directorates in the Provinces where DVV International operates, as well as the relevant target districts namely:
Manhiça District, Maputo Province;
Bilene, Chibuto and Limpopo Districts, Gaza Province;
Beira, Dondo and Muanza Districts, Sofala Province;
Moatize District, Tete Province.
Cooperation Partners include MEPT – Movimento de Educação Para Todos, together with its respective Provincial Focal Points in the targeted provinces; UNESCO, the Mozambican National Commission for UNESCO and Organisations members of ALE National Working Group.
